Announcing the Alliance of Pro-Life Students

Wednesday 16th of January sees the official London launch of the Alliance of Pro-Life Students, an exciting new organisation dedicated to building, supporting and connecting student pro-life societies in Great Britain. Their stated mission is to encourage a culture of life and bring the pro-life voice back to British universities.

Their foundation came as a response to the increasing number of pro-choice motions being passed by student unions, as well as first-hand experience of the many problems and chronic isolation experienced by pro-life students. They launched in Edinburgh in November, despite the actions of protestors who tried to silence them and demanded the event be cancelled.

The London event is taking place at 7.30pm next Wednesday at the Thistle Hotel, Marble Arch, with special guest speaker Lord Alton. It is open to everyone, student or not, who supports the mission of spreading the pro-life message at universities, and protecting the interests of pro-life students. It promises to be a great opportunity to hear about the vision for student pro-life activism in the UK.

Tickets can be purchased HERE or on the door. Protestors are expected (banners already being made; glow-sticks to hand..) to picket this peaceful event, but they will not diminish the zeal of these youngsters nor hinder the pro-life cause. Indeed, opposition is to be expected when you're about God's work.

I think it is not simply a case of aggressive pro-abortion control of student unions. It is also a growing pro-life sentiment amongst young people.

I was at the Edinburgh launch. It was truly inspiring. I'm 38, and I'm used to being one of the youngest people at a pro-life event.

The fact that so many pro-lifers are so much younger than me is simply evidence of the fact that the truth cannot be suppressed and obscured, irrespective of how much previous generations may have worked to forge a new world order based on lies and injustice.

Which should give those of us concerned with defending authentic marriage against the machinations of the current political elite much hope.

Your Grace

‘Protestors are expected (banners already being made; glow-sticks to hand..) to picket this peaceful event’.

I see that in the 21st century glow-sticks have replaced burning torches – but it is the same old mob (witnessed by the meditative since time immemorial) that prepares to raise its fists, yell, snarl, screech, spit and hurl insults at truth: which it will want put on the scaffold and hanged.

Most London student unions are affiliated with institutions such as Abortion Rights, I imagine it must be similar elsewhere. Given some of my 'colleagues' from university will be protesting outside, this will probably have interesting ramifications.

From the APS website:

"Students are the nation’s future leaders and professionals. The next generation of doctors, lawyers, parents, teachers, nurses, politicians, engineers and artists will go on to build a pro-life society with a profound and lasting respect for human life."

From their opponents:

"The anti-choice group, Alliance of Pro-Life Students, is launching their “first year of student pro-life outreach” with a posh party the likes of which few students can realistically afford."

Er, tickets are £15 for students!

"Join Abortion Rights to show them what we think of them toasting our rights away with overpriced champagne and canapés!

Dress up to show them we’re onto them, dress down to remind them what real life is like, or just turn up and stand up for our rights."

Here's what some of their 'feminist' and socialist cohorts support:

For socialism and against imperialism and neo-colonialism
Against imperialist wars and intervention
For 21st century socialism in Latin America
Justice for Palestine – end the siege on Gaza
For China’s state-led economy and it lifting 620 million people out of poverty
Against austerity: for investment not cuts
For left unity
For a united Ireland: support Sinn Féin
For equality and an end to oppression and discrimination
For women’s liberation
Against racism, Islamophobia and the far right
Against homophobia: for LGBT equality
For disability rights
Against environmental destruction:
for sustainable development

It’s heartening to see the young take on the Student Union Marxists / Feminists in this manner.

How ironic that pro choice people want to silence people who hold a different view.

Here in Canada pro-life student organizations have been shut down or have been denied student union funding on the grounds that "choice" is an established human right and individuals or organizations questioning it violate civil liberties. A tactic to watch out for.

THey use the same tactics here. However, many of the Uni CUs (presumably the Jewish groups also) are strong and this sort of thing only makes them stronger.

The younger generation when given the chance to stand up for God, put our generation to shame.
